Building EyeLabX – Join as a Founding Blockchain & Full-Stack DeveloperAt EyeLabX, we’re building the first eye wellness ecosystem that combines digital health, token incentives, and community governance. We believe healthy screen habits should be rewarded, and that users, doctors, and developers should co‑own the future of digital eye care.
We are a small, remote‑first, early‑stage team. Our first product is a desktop app that helps people reduce eye strain. Our roadmap includes a token reward system, a DAO for community decisions, and eventually a platform where users can securely share eye health data with verified doctors and earn rewards for participating in better treatment outcomes.
We’re looking for a Founding Blockchain & Full-Stack Developer to take ownership of our token infrastructure, smart contracts, and the Web3 frontend that connects users to rewards and governance.
Our Mission
To make eye wellness effortless, rewarding, and trustworthy – by putting users in control of their data and their incentives.
Our Values (How We Work)
These aren’t posters on a wall. They are the filters we use to make decisions.
- Ship, then iterate. We value working software over endless planning. But we never trade security for speed – especially when user funds or data are involved.
- Own the outcome. You build it, you run it, you learn from it. No hand‑offs to invisible teams.
- Ask “what could break?” We proactively look for edge cases, especially in smart contract logic and reward distribution. We don’t wait for an exploit to care.
- Build with transparency. Our code, our roadmap, and our mistakes are shared openly with our community. We trust that this earns real loyalty.
- Stay small, think big. We prefer a handful of focused, high‑ownership engineers over a crowded room of bystanders.
The Role: Founding Blockchain & Full-Stack Developer
You will be the first dedicated blockchain engineer on the team. You will work directly with the founder and eventually collaborate with external auditors and community contributors.
What you’ll own:
1. Smart Contract Development (EVM)
- Design, implement, and test our ERC‑20 reward token – including minting logic tied to verifiable user actions (screen breaks, reduced screen time).
- Build a simple staking or reward distribution contract that automatically allocates tokens to users based on off‑chain attestations (initially from our backend, later via oracles).
- Plan for upgradeability and security from day one (proxy patterns, time locks, emergency pause).
2. Web3 Frontend Integration
- Integrate wallet connection (RainbowKit / Web3Modal) into our existing React/TypeScript desktop app.
- Build a user dashboard showing token balance, earned rewards, and governance proposal status.
- Enable one‑click claiming of rewards and staking.
3. Governance & DAO Foundations
- Implement a simple governance contract (using Snapshot + off‑chain voting, or an on‑chain lightweight DAO) for community votes on reward parameters and feature priorities.
- Work with the founder to define the first governance experiments.
4. Security & Audit Readiness
- Write comprehensive tests (Hardhat/Foundry) for all contracts.
- Document the system architecture for future auditors.
- Coordinate with external audit firms (e.g., QuillAudits, MixBytes) before mainnet launch.
5. Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with the founder and any later frontend/backend engineers.
- Write clear, accessible documentation for the community and for internal handover.
What You Bring
Must have:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1+ year specifically in Solidity/EVM smart contract development (mainnet or testnet projects you can show).
- Deep understanding of ERC‑20 standards, access control, reentrancy guards, and common attack vectors.
- Experience with Hardhat or Foundry testing frameworks.
- Ability to integrate Web3 frontend libraries (wagmi, viem, ethers.js) into a React/TypeScript app.
- Comfort working in a small, remote, asynchronous team – you communicate clearly in writing and take ownership.
Nice to have:
- Experience with open‑source or DeFi protocols (even small ones).
- Familiarity with Layer 2 solutions (Base, Arbitrum, Optimism) for cheaper rewards distribution.
- Basic understanding of oracles (Chainlink, DIA) and how to verify off‑chain data on‑chain.
- Interest in DAO governance frameworks (Aragon, Tally, Snapshot).
What we don’t require:
- A completed degree. We care about what you have built.
- 10 years of experience. We value deep focus over breadth.
- Previous health tech experience. You’ll learn the domain with us.
Compensation & Commitment
- Role type: Part‑time or full‑time (flexible, but steady). Initially contractor with potential to convert to employee as we raise.
- Compensation: Competitive for early‑stage – mix of cash + significant token allocation / equity.
- Location: Fully remote – we communicate asynchronously (written) with occasional sync calls.
- Tools: GitHub, Notion, Discord, Linear.
Why join EyeLabX now?
- Own a critical piece of architecture from the very beginning – no legacy code, no politics.
- Work on a non‑speculative use case that actually helps people (eye health) while exploring serious Web3 incentives.
- Learn across domains – you’ll touch tokens, DAOs, user data privacy (HIPAA considerations), and AI personalisation down the road.
- Be part of a small, honest team that values proactive security and transparency. We won’t blame “market conditions” for poor code.
How to apply
Send an email to support@eyelabx.com with:
- A short note about why this specific role interests you.
- Links to 1–2 smart contract projects you’ve built (GitHub, Etherscan, or a short Loom video).
- Any public audit or security write‑up you have contributed to (even a hobby audit).
Or send request to our HR manager linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mellisa-gathoni-715a1a378/
We don’t believe in take‑home tests that waste your time. If your background looks like a strong fit, we’ll hop on a 30‑min call to discuss architecture and see if we work well together.
EyeLabX is an equal opportunity project. We welcome builders from any background, location, or experience level – as long as you care about building secure, honest, and useful technology.
